Model Code of Conduct

CODE OF CONDUCT

Councillors of Braunton Parish Council are bound by the National Code of Conduct. The first duty of a new Councillor is to sign the Declaration of Acceptance of Office undertaking and to complete the Register of Interests, which forms part of the ethical framework. Braunton Parish Council adopted the Standard Code on 8 April 2002.

Advice on how the Code might affect the work of Councillors can be obtained from the Clerk to the Council, the Monitoring Officer at North Devon District Council or the County Secretary of the Devon Association of Parish Councils.

Information is also available on the web site of the Standards Board for England www.standardsboard.co.uk.

A full copy of Braunton Parish Council's Code of Conduct is available for inspection at the Council Offices between 9am and 12 noon Monday to Friday.
