Accounts
Braunton Parish Council Accounts
At each Full Council meeting a Statment of Accounts is produced to advise members of the previous month's expenditure and account balances to date in order for this to be monitored against the agreed budget. A monthly Statement of Accounts is produced with details of all the cheques that have been drawn against invoices due. This is presented to the meeting by the Finance Chairman and once it has received approval all cheques are signed.
Once every six months a budget monitor is done again to ensure that expenditure and income are in line with the agreed budget for the year. The budget is set by the Finance and Administration Committee annually in October and then presented to Full Council at its December's meeting for approval. Recent budgets and monthly Statement of Accounts are available by clicking on the link below.
At the end of each financial year Council's accounts are audited by an internal auditor appointed by Council and an external auditor appointed by the Government. An audit return is prepared and notices are placed on noticeboards in the Parish advising that it is available for inspection. Copies of Audit Returns are available for inspection at the Council Offices
All details are available for inspection at the Council Offices.
